Introducing Ian Heron : Author

O Canada!
Born                May 7
Occupation     Novelist, retired Civil Servant
Nationality      British
Genres            Crime fiction, mystery, thriller

Ian was born in Royal Leamington Spa, England and spent most of his childhood in the nearby city of Coventry. He was educated at King Henry VIII Grammar School and Coventry University, before spending thirty-three years in the UK Civil Service. In a varied career he set Customs & Excise policy on how to search people who are detained at the border, worked on the Chancellor's Budget, changed EU law to tackle cross-border tax fraud and designed digital services to make tax easier. He retired in 2017 and used the extra time to complete his first novel 'Triple F - Retribution'.

Ian enjoys finding new places, culture and cuisines in the UK and abroad, laughing with friends at beer festivals and baking bread. He tries to keep fit by running short distances quite slowly. A lifelong supporter of Coventry City Football Club, he attends occasional home and away games to remind himself that retirement isn't all about enjoyment.

Ian is married to Ruth and lives in the town of Yateley, Hampshire in the South of England with their cats, Jaffa and Finn. Click any of the images below to find out more.
